Description

THE GULLY is a traditional piece of jewelry, a toki pendant, carved by artist Kyohei Noguchi. Beautifully crafted in fine New Zealand kawakawa jade.

This exquisite deep green Toki is carved from local New Zealand jade and bound with an adjustable 4-plait black cord. A beautiful piece to wear and handle - this will add a wonderful piece to your collection.

We've backlit the second photo, you'll see how glorious the stone is.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.

THE GULLY is lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch.
