SHARP VISION - Incredible Art!

Soft to the touch, beautiful and seamless - Kerry has thought this design through and carved it with care down to the final detail.

SHARP VISION is a stylised Haast Eagle knife. Hand carved from beautiful and rare jade. The blade is a beautiful New Zealand Blue Jade from Nelson, this is a rare stone that we see very little of. The handle is carved from a wonderfully translucent Siberian Jade with Mother of Pearl inlay for the eye.

Kerry has used his signature contrast polishing technique. The blade and handle have a satin matte finish, and the raised parts of the handle and blade are polished to a high shine - a lovely visual contrast that flicks in and out when the light moves across this faces of the knife!

The Design:

The handle is Kerry's representation of the legendary Haast eagle (Hieraaetus moorei), now extinct. This bird was the apex predator of New Zealand’s prehistoric skies and the largest eagle ever known to exist. With a wingspan reaching nearly three meters (10 feet) and talons as large as a tiger’s claws, it was a formidable hunter, perfectly adapted to its environment.

The blade is beautifully carved from a rare and exquisite New Zealand nephrite jade, renowned for its striking colours and intricate natural patterns. This exceptional Nelson stone bears a remarkable resemblance to the legendary Damascus steel, revered for its strength and ability to hold an edge. The swirling and stepped formations within the stone capture the fluid motion of a mountain river, giving the piece a sense of dynamic energy. Its deep, complex hues stand in bold contrast to the vivid green handle, enhancing its visual impact and commanding presence.

The design and finish is a tribute to traditional craftsmanship. 

SHARP VISION is presented with a custom powder-coated metal stand for display. The stand elevates the knife, allowing its intricate details to be fully appreciated from all angles while ensuring it remains securely positioned.
