PERSPECTIVE

A large, slender and beautifully bound Toki, hand carved by Ric Moor.

PERSPECTIVE is carved from a semi-translucent piece of New Zealand Jade, a wonderful piece of stone. It is a beautiful deep green colour and, when held to the light you can see speckled black inclusions, which we love!

This is a very tactile piece - you will find a connection with this piece - a great stone to hold and handle! What a gift for someone you love!

The neck cord is a 4-plait brown cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.

PERSPECTIVE is lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch.
