THE PEACEMAKER - a stunning hand carved one off, engraved Bone Flute.
The kōauau is a traditional Māori flute, often crafted from wood, bone, or stone. They are usually somewhere between 10 and 20cm long (4 - 8 inches) and have between three to six finger holes drilled through the bore. These produce wonderful haunting, melodic tones when played. The Kōauau is played by blowing across the top edge - it was historically used for storytelling, rituals, and expressing emotions, especially love and longing.
THE PEACEMAKER is carved from natural bone which Yuri has stained with his homemade dye. The eyes are made from Pāua Shell.
THE PEACEMAKER is a decorative, display piece but functions and could be worn as a necklace. If you would like it as a necklace let us know and we will plait and attach a cord for you.
