New Life

We have a beautiful selection of carvings which signify new life - its creation and development.

The Tiki is believed to represent fertility - tiki are often carved with hands placed on the loins in a direct reference to fertility. Other beliefs are that tiki represent the human embryo, or the Māori god Tiki who was considered responsible for the creation of life.

Koru also represent new life or rebirth - the circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.
