THE MAST

THE MAST - we've named this piece THE MAST a central pillar of guidance. THE MAST's main feature is the matau or hook, a wonderful talisman and representation of protection for those travelling. On the side of the Matau is a Manaia face, a connection to your ancestors.

Hand carved for us by Yuri Terenyi, this is a very cool, large piece. We've added a black or brown cord - strong colours for a strong pendant. Use the dropdown menu to select the cord colour you would like with your pendant.

The Manaia: A mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect. 

The Hook: The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.
