This is quite the work of art. An absolute knockout piece crafted for us by Yannis Petzold. Everything about this piece is quite remarkable - the selection of material, the subtle shape of the toki, the cord design and the sublime craftsmanship - a real work of art!

The Materials....

The toki is carved from a recycled piece of African Ebony - a silky smooth, deep black chocolate coloured wood that is beautifully finished.

The inlay is Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, these are each cased in a small circle of brass. 

The silver 'star' inlays represent a genealogical pathway:

• 7 - Maternal Grandmother
• 5 - Paternal Grandmother
• 3 - Mother
• 2 - Father 

The neck cord is in its own right a little work of art! A hand plaited, spiralled cord in black that is a fixed length with a Paua Shell Toggle.

The stones used in this piece are absolutely beautiful. Bright wonderful blues that grab your attention. 

SLEEPING BEAUTY is a very cool piece. It has clean lines, is silky smooth and is exquisitely hand made from a fantastic New Zealand artist. He has carved this with the flair that you would expect to find in his work - and his craftsmanship is flawless.
