This would have to be one of the most cheerful figures around! OTAFUKU - also called Okame - are widely found throughout Japan. They are believed to invoke benevolence and creativity, and are fun, playful figures.

This has been beautifully carved by Fumio Noguchi. The design is his and we think that he has captured the essence of this figure beautifully.
