BONNEVILLE SALT is hand carved from what can only be described as an outstanding piece of New Zealand Inanga Pounamu. The colours in this jade are remarkable - pale green with tinges of blue and scars of sandy orange. This piece is unique in its colours, and in the binding and finish.

Inanga is a very special stone unique to New Zealand. Its hues range from pale green to silvery-gray and it exudes a serene and ethereal beauty. If you've ever been in a river valley early in the morning you will see its resemblance to the tranquil waters of a misty river. Its smooth, polished surface captures the essence of Aotearoa's natural landscapes - pure and calm.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
