SENTINEL - Hand Carved New Zealand Jade Koropepe Pendant
Guardian Manaia Koru - this piece has a lovely symbolism combining two shapes that are important in our local culture: the manaia and the koru.
The birds head on this manaia symbolises your Guardian Spirit. Traditional belief is that it will guide you and keep you safe on your journey through life. It is a symbol of youth, new beginnings and prosperity.
The koru symbolises new life, the central spiral shape represents an unfolding silver fern frond - the beginning of its life. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.
This is a fabulous pendant for someone setting out in life, taking on new challenges. These pieces feel absolutely beautiful in the hand.
The body of this piece is carved from kokopu jade, it has been left with a matte finish in traditional style.
The piece with the Aquamarine Floret has Aotea stone inlay eyes and the piece with the Nacho Orange Floret has Flower Jade inlay eyes.
We provide these with our Ghost plaited cord. Each piece is an original, the jade varies in colour and in its visible structure, so take a moment to look at each photo to decide which piece is the one for you!
